Marrying in Bali

We are able to provide a civil celebrant service for renewal of vows, or non-religious marriages that will be legally registered elsewhere.    For marriages that will be registered legally in Indonesia, we will co-ordinate with you to ensure the right processes are followed to ensure a smooth process for legal recognition of your marriage.   If you are resident outside Indonesia, we recommend checking with local authorities in your country in relation to registration of marriages conducted off-shore.  The vast majority of countries (including Australia) allow this and recognise as legal, a marriage conducted under the laws of Indonesia.

Does Tina have a clear speaking voice in English?

Tina has an excellent clear voice when speaking English having undertaken vocal training.  Her voice can be heard clearly with past events including up to 300 people with appropriate audio / speakers to support the size of your planned venue. 

As the leader within the Catholic Cathedral in Bali, and with many contacts across different denominations, Tina is very familiar with weddings of all religions and following the customs and traditions of many nations.  Get in touch to let us know your requirements and we will assist with co-ordinating with the right resources to support you needs.

Tina is able to provide both suggested scripts for your vows, along with other elements such as short readings or poems that include significant meaning for the happy couple.  She provides a full service in planning all aspects of the running sheet for your big day. 

Unfortunately due to local regulatory restrictions we are unable to support same-sex ceremonies at this time.

To legally register a marriage in Australia that was conducted in another country, you need to follow the below steps:

  1. Obtain a certificate of the marriage from the country where the marriage was conducted.

  2. Ensure that the certificate is translated into English if it is not already in English.

  3. Have the certificate and the translation legalized by the relevant authority in the country where the marriage was conducted, if required.

  4. Have the certificate and the translation legalized by the Australian Embassy in Renon, Bali.

  5. Lodge the certificate, translation and any other required documents with the registry of births, deaths and marriages in the state or territory in Australia where you reside.

  6. Pay any applicable fees to the registry of births, deaths and marriages.

It is recommended to contact the relevant authorities in Australia and the country where the marriage was conducted for specific requirements and procedures.
